Anyone who follows the Dark Souls and Demon Souls communities knows that the gamers that play those games are, well, a little off. Sometimes complicated plots and extravagant set-pieces are overrated. Sometimes the appeal of a film is escaping into a comfortable atmosphere to laze around with likeable characters. Quentin Tarantino dubbed this particular kind of cinema “hangout movies”, films where the primary focus is simply characters ‘existing’ and conversing with each other. Tarantino’s own movies are often too edgy and erratic to qualify – although Reservoir Dogs and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood come close – but these selections provide a sense of downtime and unhurried interaction for a particularly soothing type of sub-genre....

In September of 2019, developer Spiders released GreedFall, an action-adventure game set in a fictional 17the century inspired fantasy setting. Although the game wasn’t as popular as other titles in the same genre, the very Dragon Age-esque GreedFall is still considered a success after Spiders revealed that it sold one million copies in a year, especially since it contains a similar style and gameplay with BioWare’s Dragon Age. Spiders also revealed last year that GreedFall would be released to the PS5 and Xbox Series X alongside additional content that will allow veteran players on the latest generation of console gaming to experience something new in the game....

We’re still a long way away until Grand Theft Auto Online releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with it so far only scheduled to release in the second half of 2021. Bilibi Esports, the parent company of Overwatch League team Hangzhou Spark, announced yesterday that they are taking legal action against former Spark player Cai “Krystal” Shilong. The team is seeking damages that amount for 15 million RMB, or 2.13 million dollars. Last year, the Hangzhou Spark released a post on Weibo detailing the problems they had with Krystal. During his time with the Spark, Krystal requested a separate living arrangement from the team, which they honored, but told Krystal that the unusual arrangement should not hinder his practice....
