One of our favorite games of the year and a contender for 2012’s best shooter, Far Cry 3, is now available (read our review). Part of Ubisoft’s marketing strategy for the game was to use its most notably villain, Vaas, and put him in live-action videos starring Michael Mando (Vaas himself) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Far Cry 3 has since earned even more viral video love from YouTube celebrities including Freddie W & FPSRussia, and now a new one from Devin Super Tramp....

The sequel to Ubisoft’s Grow Home is a charming follow up that gives gamers more to explore and collect, but ultimately fails to capitalize with further innovations. People don’t tend to associate Ubisoft with anything less than Triple-A releases. Despite these public assessments, the publisher – known best amongst dedicated game players for Assassin’s Creed – has quite a laundry list of smaller projects releasing under the Ubi banner. One of the titles that only just recently made its way to digital storefronts was none other than Grow Up, a sequel to last year’s uniquely adorable Grow Home....

In order to incentivize gamers to clock even more playtime into Halo 5: Guardians’ multiplayer modes, developer 343 Industries adds daily loot drops to the game. Halo 5: Guardians has received a new loyalty program giving would-be Spartans rewards for playing on a daily basis. As of today, 343 Industries has included up to two free REQ packs for taking part in and winning the Arena and Warzone multiplayer modes....

However, the upcoming augmented reality game only received its very first trailer around four months ago and this video was very brief and very vague. The prospect of an open world Harry Potter RPG with custom characters and advancement is understandably very exciting for fans of the franchise. Oddly enough, though, the series’ creator, J.K. Rowling, doesn’t seem as enthused, and her recent anti-trans comments have sent shockwaves through the community. Not long ago, J.K. Rowling made some assertions on Twitter which many deemed to be anti-trans. Modern gaming is way too complicated sometimes. Consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X are still relatively simple - you plug them in, set everything up, insert a disc, and you’re hopefully good to go. Hearthstone has revealed that United in Stormwind is the next expansion to arrive, featuring the new mechanic keyword, Tradeable, which aims shake the meta up with new and interesting interactions. The new expansion follows the theme of featuring one well-known region in World of Warcraft, following Forged in the Barrens and places like the Crossroads. As the name implies, United in Stormwind features cards based on the Alliance city, as well as troublemakers in the Stockades....

Last week, Game Rant was invited to spend some time playing Agents of Mayhem, the new game from the warped minds behind the Saint’s Row series. Since the game was unveiled last year, we’ve known that it has links to Volition’s other titles, but our hands-on session explained some of the biggest connections. Yesterday was a big day for Ubisoft and their presentation Ubisoft Forward. Even if it did not go entirely as planned. Uplay crashed as soon as everything started. It seems as if Ubisoft was not prepared for the sheer numbers that would be in attendance. Not only this, but they offered to give Watch Dogs 2 away to whoever watched. The issue lied in the Uplay login which was down temporarily....

Hideo Kojima expresses an interest to one day work with The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus again. Previously, the pair were collaborating on Silent Hills. Ever since it was announced that Guillermo del Toro would be appearing with Hideo Kojima at the 2016 DICE Summit, fans have been anticipating some hints as to what Kojima’s first post-Konami game will be. Kojima hasn’t revealed many concrete details about the game just yet, but it is certainly a possibility that whatever it is will star The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus, who was previously working with Kojima and del Toro on the ill-fated Silent Hills....

Hitman 3 is the latest outing of the fan-favorite Agent 47 and the finale to the trilogy, started by Hitman 2016. The game is already shaping up to become a strong candidate for this year’s GOTY award. Game Rant gave Hitman 3 a 4.5 out of 5 stars, with praise aimed at the game’s spectacular collection of levels and the inherent replayability that comes standard with these newer Hitman games. The commercial and critical success of Hitman 3 means that single-player stealth focused experiences can still make an impact, which makes a strong case for Ubisoft to bring back the fan-beloved Splinter Cell series....

Nintendo will do anything to avoid making a brand new main-series Mario Kart game, including letting us turn the world into our own private Mario Kart track. Nintendo made a boatload of announcements this week in regard to how it plans to celebrate Mario’s 35th anniversary. The release of 3D All-Stars, a special edition Game and Watch on which the original Mario Bros. can be played, and even a battle royale version of the game inspired by the very popular Tetris 99....

Even though it’s technically a sequel to 2015’s Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Infinite‘s mission is not so much to continue the story of the Reclaimer Saga and all the Cortana and Forerunner baggage that comes with it. Yes, there’s still a bit of that throughout Halo Infinite’s 10-15 hour story campaign, but the game’s main concern, as Master Chief crash lands on yet another mysterious Halo ring, is to recapture the magic of 2001....
