The Grand Theft Auto Online NoPixel roleplay server is designed for players who want a deep and immersive roleplaying experience with others. Now in version 3.0, this server has contributed to Grand Theft Auto 5’s rise to the top of Twitch over the past few months, with many famous streamers joining in on the action. One of these streamers is Felix “xQc” Lengyel, a former professional Overwatch player who has been banned before from Twitter, Twitch, and other platforms for several different reasons....

Guilty Gear Strive has officially passed half a million sales and the game’s first DLC character is planned to be revealed July 21. The milestone was announced from developer ArcSystem Works’ Twitter page. To celebrate the milestone, the Twitter page released an illustration from Kenta Asano that features Sol and Ky playing against each other. In its Tweet, Arc System Works said, “GuiltyGearStrive keeps on rocking with over 500K units worldwide”....

As one of the primary antagonists that Master Chief must do battle with in the Halo series, the Brutes began life as a challenging enemy to take down on the battlefield, only being outpaced by the even larger and more deadly Hunters. In later entries in the series, the Brutes would go on to have a much larger role in the story, particularly before the events that caused the Covenant to splinter in Halo 3....

It’s hard to overstate just how dedicated gamers can be to a single, seemingly insignificant, cause. However, sticking to a self-implemented challenge within a game always provides a feeling accomplishment once it’s seen all the way through. Such is the case with a group of players that managed to break one of Halo 3’s skyboxes – and it only took 13 years to do it. In a 10-minute video, YouTube channel Termacious Trickocity broke down the steps to access the ‘Picture Room’ in Halo 3’s final level, 13 years after the game first released....

Fans of the Overwatch League come from a variety of diverse backgrounds with an abundance of interests. They enjoy different teams for different reasons. They gravitate towards certain heroes for different reasons. Yet, there are still a lot of common interests within the fandom, and the Hangzhou Spark have recently ventured into the anime/manga sphere that is quite prevalent with a lot of the fans out there. The Hangzhou Spark haven’t had the opportunity to play a match in their 2020 season yet as the global pandemic caused the league to cancel a ton of home matches and scramble to transition into an online format for the time being....

The announcement that Microsoft was purchasing ZeniMax Media - owners of Bethesda and its assortment of major AAA studios - shocked the world when it was revealed earlier this year. Not only did it mean that some of Bethesda’s biggest games would be hitting Xbox Game Pass, but it also meant the likes of The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, and more would all join the console’s stable of first-party games....

Destiny 2’s open beta is in full swing and Guardians across the world are making the most of their short time with the game pre-launch. One player in particular has been especially productive, earning all of the nine armor sets available within the beta. That’s three armor sets for each of the three Destiny 2 classes: Titan, Warlock and Hunter. Technically Uberwolf_ only had to earn six armor sets within the Destiny 2 beta, as three of the sets are available upon character creation....

Fallout 76’s Wastelanders update is out now, bringing with it a plethora of new content such as NPCs and more quests to complete. Perhaps surprisingly, the update is so popular that it helped transition Fallout 76’s Steam reviews to “mostly positive.” One such addition is the new settlement of Foundation. New NPCs live here are a determined to make it their permanent home, potentially put them in conflict with the Fallout 76 PC....

Black Mirror and Black Panther actress Letitia Wright has landed herself in controversy by sharing an anti-vaccine YouTube video on her Twitter account. The hour long video by the founder of a Christian missionary organisation which has since been deleted from YouTube alleges that one of the ingredients of the COVID-19 vaccine Luciferease was named after Lucifer and that anyone taking the vaccine should “hope it doesn’t make extra limbs grow”....

Guerrilla Games has detailed patch 1.32 for Horizon: Zero Dawn, which should be rolling out right now. The biggest addition on offer is a new difficulty mode, which is set to be considerably easier than the ones already in the game at present. One of the elements of Horizon: Zero Dawn that was particularly highly praised was its engaging storyline. The new easy mode is designed for players who just want to take in the narrative without too much of a challenge in terms of gameplay....

Remnant: From The Ashes might look like Dark Souls with guns, but it’s actually quite a different and interesting experience. It’s an entirely unique multiverse apocalypse story about “Dreamers”, Dragons, and a species of evil trees called the “Root”. Yes, Remnant, made by Gunfire Games is a bit “out there” conceptually, and Ixillis is concrete proof. This “Guardian” of the Corsus Realm is quite literally a giant moth monster with tentacles that protects the swamp from the evil invading trees....

The Evil Within 2 is meant to be played in third-person, with gameplay that is clearly inspired by Resident Evil 4. However, The Evil Within 2 also features a handful of first-person segments to add some variety, but PC gamers are able to play the entire game from start to finish in first-person if they so wish. There is no official in-game way to unlock first-person functionality in The Evil Within 2 on PC....

Premiering on Netflix this week, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a film adaptation of the award-winning 1982 play of the same name by August Wilson. The stage version was part of Wilson’s 10-play Pittsburgh Cycle, which acted as a chronicle the African American experience in the 20th century. And in the Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom portion of that cycle, events take place over the course of a single recording session in 1920s Chicago....

The casting of J.K. Simmons as Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon in the DC film universe back in 2016 was met with enthusiasm — Simmons, one of our best character actors, already had proven his superhero movie bona fides with his definitive take on Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies a decade earlier. But when Gordon made his debut in Justice League — the truncated 2017 version started by director Zack Snyder and finished by Joss Whedon after a family tragedy took Snyder away — his participation was frustratingly small, limited to a single rooftop scene with Batman and some of his superfriends....

Diversity in gaming is a contentious issue. Most people would agree that our industry could do with being more diverse at every level, but those who disagree tend to do so viciously and vehemently. While this bunch tends to be a (very) vocal minority, their toxicity invades every discussion, and makes it difficult to get out of a “we need more” v “no we don’t” rut - for that reason, I’m deliberately excluding them from this discussion....

The release date of Immortals: Fenyx Rising has been leaked via the Microsoft Store, along with screenshots and more details about the game. It’s starting to feel as if an anticipated game can’t be released unless it is first subject to a hefty delay. Final Fantasy 7: Remake, Marvel’s Avengers, Cyberpunk 2077, Halo Infinite. All have been or are in the process of being delayed beyond they’re initially promised release date....
