Warcraft veterans clamoring for that classic RTS experience might get a pleasant surprise at next month’s BlizzCon event, if a recent update to Blizzard Entertainment’s Battle.Net launcher is any indication. A background image and icons for Warcraft III and its expansion The Frozen Throne have been discovered in the same application that launches Blizzard’s current games like World of Warcraft, Hearthstone and Diablo III. The Irvine, CA-based developer actually announced that it was working on updating Warcraft III for modern PCs at BlizzCon 2013, so it appears that this side project may be finally coming to fruition just in time for a potential near-future announcement....

It appears that both Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online are experiencing server issues, as reports of the games being now are beginning to flood the internet, including the Rockstar Support Twitter page. As of this writing, there’s no ETA as to when the issues will be resolved, though Rockstar is apparently “looking into” the problem. According to Rockstar’s official support page, both games appear to be experiencing issues across multiple platforms, with the only exception being Red Dead Online on Google Stadia, which is apparently operating without issue....

Grounded launched this year in early access to strong success. One million players enjoyed Grounded in the first 48 hours of its launch, and now that number has climbed up to five million total, an impressive and exciting milestone. According to a new update from developer Obsidian, Grounded’s community has extended beyond five million players. This is thrilling news for both the developer and Xbox Game Studios, as Microsoft owns Obsidian thanks to the purchase of the developer two years ago....

Even after years seven years, Grand Theft Auto 5 is still going strong, partially thanks to the success of GTA Online. GTA 5 has become the most profitable entertainment product of all time, not just video games. The online component being something that is continually supported by Rockstar Games is a huge reason for the game’s profitability, and it looks like there were some really cool ideas that were cut from the Summer content....

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is due to start shooting next year if all goes well (thanks, COVID-19) with writer and director James Gunn back on board. And recently Gunn has opened up about his experience of being fired then rehired in a new interview. Talking to Empire magazine, Gunn revealed the circumstances surrounding his re-hiring. “It was a happy ending” said Gunn, “but it was also scary, because I actually got the call from Alan Horn [Walt Disney Studios chairman] long before it was announced: it happened literally the day after I agreed to do The Suicide Squad....

If the VR requirement for Half-Life: Alyx is what was putting you off from trying it, it seems your patience has paid off. Thanks to the work of some intrepid modders, gamers that don’t have the money to drop on a VR headset can fully complete Valve’s latest installment in the Half-Life series. It may be a little janky and not exactly smooth, but it’s still doable. Progress on the mod started when players discovered console commands inside of Alyx that allowed for more conventional control schemes....

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will gain a wealth of new content next week, as Season 5 is set to begin on January 27. The massive update will include plenty of new Seasonal Challenges, along with 80 pieces of armor to unlock across Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. 343 Industries has been quiet about the latest update, but now we’ve finally got a bit of concrete info. The announcement was brief – and accompanied by a disappointingly short six-second video – but here’s what we can expect on January 27:...

In this day and age, most would be hard-pressed to find a gaming enthusiast who isn’t excited for the release of Halo Infinite. It’s the first Halo game to be released in five years and promises to be extremely impactful. Now, thanks to information provided by an inside source, Halo Infinite appears to be everything people have been expecting and more. It’s been over two years since Halo Infinite was first announced at E3 2018, but sadly there has not been much additional information regarding the game outside of the reveal trailer....

For the past few weeks, developer Jam City has released new chapters for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on Thursdays, usually one chapter at a time. However, this week the studio added two chapters to the game, allowing players to progress through Year 4 Chapters 7 and 8. As can be expected, these new story chapters allow players to dig deeper into the mystery surrounding the location of Year 4’s Cursed Vault....

According to research done by the folks at Playstationing, we might have a good idea when the PlayStation 5’s price point will be revealed. After being delayed a week, Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 on June 11th but surprisingly did not announce a price. This has led to speculation that the PS5 will launch at a higher cost than the PS4. House of the Dragon Episode 7 If nothing else, House of the Dragon’s most recent two episodes have made it clear that the show is really going to miss director and co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik. Last month, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Sapochnik (who directed some of Game of Thrones‘ most action-packed installments like “The Battle of the Bastards” and “Hardhome”) would be leaving the series that he developed alongside co-showrunner Ryan Condal before season 2....
