Guilty Gear Strive is still quite a ways away, with it releasing in April 2021, so Arc System Works has posted a new Developer’s Backyard — a series of blog posts from the developers — to catch fans up on the latest information. The newest one primarily focuses on the two playable fighters that will be making their series debut in Guilty Gear Strive: Giovanna, who was announced only last month, and Nagoriyukik, who was teased when Strive was first revealed....

Watch Dogs: Legion is set to arrive on October 29th, but a hacker group calling themselves “Egregor” might break Ubisoft’s street date if they don’t get what they want. According to a new report from ZDNet, Egregor managed to hack their way into the networks for both Ubisoft and Crytek, stealing valuable data as they went. In an email interview, Egregor confirmed that they’d managed to steal a bunch of data regarding Watch Dogs: Legion during their penetration and they’re now threatening to publish that data online....

The Sims franchise has long had collaborations as part of its history. After a release push-back and a mysterious pre-order cancelation, developer IO Interactive announces that Hitman will no longer be a full title and will instead release episodically. It’s been a rocky road for the latest installment in the popular Hitman franchise. First, the game was announced at E3 2015 as a full-blown game with episodic content. Then, a round of “fine tuning” pushed the title back from its original anticipated 2015 launch into a 2016 launch....

Last year, Hitman developer Io Interactive announced that it would be going fully independent. Hitman publisher Square Enix had been looking to sell off the developer as it aimed to focus resources on key franchises and studios as well as player satisfaction. But in the process of these negotiations, Io was able to secure full control of the Hitman IP, meaning that the series would continue and that the developer would be free to do what it wants with it....
