As the launch of Destiny 2 draws closer, Bungie and Activision released a dramatic live-action trailer to really get fans in the mood to blast bad guys. But while the video encourages players to save the world (as well as the puppies), one fan has found a way to make the trailer even better. Not long after the live-action trailer was released, a Destiny 2 fan by the name of Music Sharer realized that the footage fits perfectly with one of the most iconic songs in the world....

Although the Grand Theft Auto 5 modding tool OpenIV has returned to use having fended off a takedown request from Take-Two, it does appear as though there has been a major casualty in the fracas. As it turns out, a much-anticipated Liberty City mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 has now been cancelled as part of the terms of OpenIV being made available once more. Unfortunately, this particular Grand Theft Auto 5 mod was never going to make it through the stipulations given by Rockstar and Take-Two, with the terms and conditions of the return of OpenIV warning against “use or importation of other IP (including other Rockstar IP)” in any modding project....

Starting today, all of Grand Theft Auto Online’s Adversary modes are doling out double the amount of Reputation and cash for fans of Rockstar’s open world title. Although Rockstar Games hasn’t officially announced it yet, Grand Theft Auto Online’s Adversary modes are rewarding fans with double the normal amount of RP and cash right now. The increased bounty includes the Executives and Other Criminals update’s newly added Extraction mode, which has teams hunting or rescuing VIPs from a crashed jet....

Obsidian Entertainment’s backyard survival game Grounded has gained a ton of popularity since its release for early access on July 28th. Obsidian previously announced that in order to improve the game before the full release, Grounded will have monthly updates starting on August 28th. Now, in a video teasing the update’s new content, Grounded will be receiving the first monthly update a little sooner than previously announced. The video features a few clues to what could be included in the next update....

After a popular open beta and a launch that exceeded expectations, Ninjala has become one of the Nintendo Switch’s latest success stories. However, the GungHo Online Entertainment battle royale’s colorful and cartoonish visual style has led players to draw comparisons to another beloved Nintendo title. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, the developer’s CEO acknowledged the similarities between Ninjala and Splatoon while discussing the game’s origins and future. According to GungHo CEO Kazuki Morishita, Ninjala was born from a fusion of his desire to create a game about ninjas and the inspiration of chanbara, an activity where Japanese children use sticks as pretend swords....

During a recent podcast, Andrew Reiner reveals that he spoke to a Valve employee who confirmed that Valve toyed with the idea of Half-Life 3 being an RTS game. No game has ever seen as much build up and public focus from fans who haven’t actually seen any proof of its existence than Half-Life 3, the long-awaited follow up to one of the most famous videogame titles of all time. Its predecessors each recieved expansion packs no longer than a year after the last release, and counting their expansions both Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are only separated by 3 years - which is something that has made the long wait for Half-Life 3 more unbearable for fans of the popular first person shooter....

Last week, developer Jam City added Year 5 Chapter 6 to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, in addition to a magical pet called a Kneazle. Now the developer has updated Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery yet again, adding a brand new story chapter as well as a new event that will give players the chance to unlock a purple toad skin. The purple toad skin event lasts about a week, and is similar to the game’s older events....

Zynga today announced its collaboration with Zayn Malik to bring new avatar customization options to its popular mobile game, Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells. The new options weren’t the only addition to the match-3 puzzler, as holiday activities will also be running throughout the rest of December. The last two week of December will see plenty of new winter-themed content, including the limited-time “Christmas in the Wizarding World” album, giving you the chance to earn a Unicorn as your magical companion....

Almost two years on from the leaked Harry Potter RPG footage, Warner Bros. continues to remain tight-lipped on the highly-anticipated game. Warner Bros. was previously rumored to have been planning its first E3 showcase during the 2020 show, where it would announce its upcoming slate of games including the Harry Potter RPG, its upcoming Batman game from WB Montreal, and the latest project from Batman Arkham creator, Rocksteady Studios. However, the show was ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19, and very little has been said about the publisher’s future plans for the game ever since....

This week’s reveal of Microsoft’s next-gen console, the Xbox One, is best described as a mixed success. We were impressed by some of the new technology on display, but a little disappointed by the lack of focus on video games and the emphasis placed on the ability to watch TV on a gaming console. Another fairly major chink in the Xbox One’s armor is the fact that independent developers will not be able to self-publish their games on the platform — a decision which stands in stark contrast to Sony and Nintendo’s current policy of enthusiastically chasing the indie market....

Upon booting up Hellpoint for the first time I distinctly remember uttering the words, “Oh, it’s a Soulslike.” I enjoy Soulslikes for the most part. Most of FromSoftware’s output is usually highly entertaining. Even Sekiro, which might be my least favorite of all their Souls-y titles, is still a blast. But at this point, the genre has become surprisingly oversaturated with tons of developers all taking a crack at their own versions of a Dark Souls game....

YouTube user Arekkz Gaming gives players a look at the newest story mission set in the New York underground in Tom Clancy’s The Division which is now active in the open beta. It’s only been a few weeks since gamers last got to enter the world of The Division, a game set in New York after a biological attack struck during Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year. The closed beta test not only allowed players to enter the popular PvP enabled Dark Zone, but it also gave people a chance to experience one of the story missions set within Madison Square Garden....
