Yeah, adulthood’s really changed me. But one thing that hasn’t changed since high school is how much of a thing I have for Kinzie Kensington, the Saints Row franchise’s resident snarky tech genius....

The rumors have been proven true. Grand Theft Auto 5 is being given away as the Epic Games Store’s current free game of the week. There’s just one problem. In everyone’s excitement to acquire one of the best games of the generation for free, they’ve taken down the entire Epic Games Store. As if that wasn’t enough, it now appears that Fortnite has been taken down, too. Millions of players play Fortnite every day, but apparently Grand Theft Auto is just that popular....

Grand Theft Auto Online’s newest update is out today and adds a new location, the private tropical island of Cayo Perico, and with it, new vehicles, weapons, social spaces to hang out in and a new heist which Rockstar promises will be the game’s biggest adventure yet. It’s not yet known how big of a role these two will play in the heist, whether they’re key figures that provide missions or some level of assistance (maybe they’ll hang out with players on the new submarine hideout?...

The Hallmark holiday Valentine’s Day is often posited as a reason for people to spend extra time with their loved ones, and many video games with multiplayer aspects offer events for those couples to potentially take part in. For example, Niantic’s Pokemon GO is adding Munna and Musharna this year for couples to discover on their walks, and today Rockstar Games announced a number of things in Grand Theft Auto Online will be geared toward the February holiday....

Sam and Max have stepped through a time warp from 2006 to deliver a remaster of their energetic investigations. Announced by Skunkape Games, the graphic adventure will be released as a remastered version of the series’ first title, which will spring onto Nintendo Switch and PC December 2. Sam & Max Save the World Remastered will launch for the low price of $19.99. Players who already own an original copy of the game - on Steam, GOG, or the Telltale Store - can get their hands on the remaster for a cheaper £9....

Grand Theft Auto has now sold 345 million games when accounting for all of its releases as it closes in on Pokemon’s total. The success of GTA 5 is nothing short of phenomenal. Complain about the lack of concrete GTA 6 news all you want, but until GTA 5’s sales start to drop, a sequel just isn’t going to happen. Rockstar’s latest update revealed the latest installment in the GTA franchise now sits at 145 million units sold, and it shows no signs of slowing down....

The latest Grand Theft Auto Online update adds more customizable vehicles along with the Sumo Adversary Mode, in which players ram each other out of an arena. While Grand Theft Auto 5’s online multiplayer mode, GTA Online, has had its fair share of updates over the past 12 months, one that sticks out in particular is the Lowrider update. Introduced towards the tail-end of last year, it not only added bouncing cars and plenty of vehicle customization options for players to trick their cars and trucks out with, but it also added several new ‘gang war’ missions, allowing players to team up with fan favorite NPC Lamar and get up to no good....

Horizon Zero Dawn developer Guerrilla Games hires a former Rockstar Games developer as a designer. Guerrilla will soon be releasing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, after several years of the game being a PS4 exclusive, but the developer hasn’t confirmed what it is working on next. On LinkedIn, the profile of former Rockstar Games designer Elijah Houck has been updated to say that the developer is now working at Guerrilla Games as a senior world designer....

Games Workshop and Forge World have some exciting news for dice fans the world over, as they are set to launch new dice sets for The Horus Heresy. Warhammer 40,000 is probably the world’s largest tabletop strategy wargame and has dominated the market since its introduction in the 1980s. Filled with the heavy metal teenage angst of the era, the universe has grown over the years and has a fully fleshed-out backstory which dates back millennia, much of which deals with the rise of The Emperor, the creation of the Angels of Death, and the fragile status quo currently enjoyed at the end of the 41st millennia....

Steam has officially revealed the top-selling games released on the platform in the month of March. As ever on PC, the list is a range of diverse titles including JRPGs, idle games, first-person shooters, and more. One title on Steam’s list that’s both surprising and not is Half-Life: Alyx, Valve’s VR sequel to the Half-Life franchise. On one hand, Half-Life: Alyx being on the top-selling list for its launch month is no surprise whatsoever....

With the PC release of the Master Chief Collection on December 3, 2019, 343 Industries began a roughly year-long endeavor of porting every title in the franchise that ended with Halo 4 on November 17, 2020. Some games, like Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 released on the platform prior to this decision, but the rest of the games arrived for the first time. It’s garnered some debate for fans. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has been out for about a week, and some players have already managed to play through what it has to offer (the first two years at Hogwarts and a portion of Year Three). Luckily for any witches and wizards who are enjoying the game and want to play more, developer Jam City has confirmed that more content is on the way. In an interview with Newsweek, Jam City confirmed that more storyline content will be coming to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery in “regular content updates....

While Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has faced a great deal of criticism since launch, at least developer Jam City has supported it with regular updates. These updates have mostly added new story chapters to the game, but at some point in the future, dating and romance options will be added as well, likely in Year 4. Once players reach Year 3 in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, they will travel to Hogsmeade with Ravenclaw student Andre Egwu....

Team Ninja’s highly-anticipated action RPG Nioh 2 has just released, and players are now busy perfecting their Ki Pulses, learning how best to use a variety of weapons, and taking on a slew of maddeningly difficult bosses. As fans begin to make their way through this new title, some may wonder approximately how long it will take to beat Nioh 2, and details on this matter are indeed now available....

Blizzard’s first official entry into the world of MOBAs has been a very successful one with this summer’s official launch of Heroes of the Storm. The game carried a ton of hype through the open beta and the initial reviews are very positive. The developer wants to keep that Heroes of the Storm momentum going by not wasting any time before the first major content addition to the free(ish)-to-play game....

Perhaps the biggest reveal of today’s Stadia Connect was the ports of PUBG and Octopath Traveler, which leaked beforehand. But the presentation was still full of interesting, zany new games like Embr. Embr is described as a frantic fire-fighting simulator where public funding has run day and “the Embr Responder is the last stand in a world ablaze.” It is a co-op multiplayer game and is arriving on Stadia in early access month....

Hunting for trophies or achievements is a great way to extend the amount of time players get to spend with a game, and the same holds true for Hitman 3. In the base game, there are an impressive 47 trophies to be earned (48 including the platinum), but one in particular can give players a lot of trouble if they don’t know what to do. This trophy, called Count Down from 47, is ranked at bronze, but the only hint players have is a blurb saying “47 takes another nap....

The PC release of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn is a rare example of a Sony-exclusive title becoming more accessible through a new platform. However, the port has been chastised for bugs, lag, and crashes, leading to Guerrilla Games addressing Horizon: Zero Dawn’s issues on Twitter. Patch 1.01 released today with a number of fixes, as well as a Steam community update that confirmed what problems are being prioritized — including some collected via Reddit....

On Thursday, Feb. 11, Los Angeles Judge Brenda Penny sided with Britney Spears’ legal team, reducing Britney’s father’s powers as sole conservator. Judge Penny ordered James Spears and financial company Bessemer Trust to work together on her financial and business affairs. On Friday, Feb. 12, Justin Timberlake issued a public apology to Britney, as well as for the misogynistic “wardrobe malfunction” prank he pulled on Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl in 2004....
