People often complain about seasons seven and eight of Game of Thrones, but I think that’s giving five and six far more credit than they deserve. Sure, season six had The Battle of the Bastards - which honestly might be my favourite episode of television ever made - but a lot of the other stuff was crap. I’d argue that season five is even more brutal than seven and eight put together, and a huge part of that is its unflinchingly idiotic treatment of Ser Barristan Selmy....

Earlier today, Xbox fans were delighted to see that Injustice: Gods Among Us was available to download for free from the Xbox Live Marketplace. However, the game is now also available for free on the PlayStation Store, as well as Steam. Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting game based in the DC comic book universe developed by NetherRealm Studios. The game was a hit, not only with fighting game players but with casual comic book fans as well....

Since its release back in May, Injustice 2 has been keeping its fanbase happy with a steady stream of new content to enjoy on a monthly basis. The first character pack has already added three new characters to the roster and the studio has applied a number of updates to the game and other goodies like the Bizarro premier skin for Superman. While there’s been no shortage of speculation since the Character Pack 2 announcement earlier this week, Ed Boon is once again whipping the fanbase up into a frenzy, teasing another very dark image....

If there’s one thing that Insomniac Games knows, it’s zany and enjoyable weaponry - both the Ratchet and Clank series as well as the sci-fi FPS Resistance franchise have been set-above their contemporaries because of the developer’s dedication to new and exciting ways of killing things. With Resistance 3 less than two weeks away, players are already anxious to find-out where the Sony exclusive series goes next. Some astute GTA Online players have discovered how to shake off Cayo Perico’s guards and free roam the island. More than seven years after it was first released, Rockstar added the biggest update yet to GTA 5. The Cayo Perico Heist, an update that includes a brand new night club and its crown jewel, and an entirely new island. GTA Online players are able to team up and complete heists on the new island, and for the first time ever, can also complete some of the heists alone....

Guild Wars 2, a popular MMORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game), has a set of 5 distinct races for the player to choose from. There are the humans, of course, who live in elaborate and spiraling cities. Then there are charr, a cat-like species that walks on its hind legs and has had a long history of war with humanity. The Norn live in the coldest parts of Tyria — the race is human-like but drastically taller and broader....

With news surrounding the heavily rumored Harry Potter RPG once again swirling, it seems fans are more excited than ever to experience a large, multifaceted role-playing experience set within the walls of Hogwarts castle. It’s an experience that most of the Harry Potter video games have not been able to provide thus far, with most following the plot of the movies or being tied to a mobile game. It seems the wait for an all-encompassing Harry Potter RPG might just be over, however, with a mod offering franchise fans the opportunity to finally become a witch or wizard....

After suffering a major delay in development due to the global pandemic, Natsume released a trailer for the upcoming farming simulator, Harvest Moon: One World, bringing the game closer to its release date next year. Harvest Moon: One World was announced back in May of this year, but didn’t get a release date after its development process was delayed by Covid-19 restrictions. It was initially planned to release this fall, but Harvest Moon: One World will now release March 2nd, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch....

Ever since Disney Infinity first made its debut back in January, dedicated fans and gamers alike have been pretty high on the game’s premise. Uniting classic and modern Disney heroes and villains for the first time in a world that’s only limited by the player’s imagination sounds great, and the added thrill of buying toys that transfer well-known characters into the actual game will sound all too appealing for avid collectors — if not overly reminiscent of Activision’s Skylanders franchise....

The Witcher series of games has to go down as one of the greatest video game adaptations, with the games gaining greater popularity than even the works of series author Andrzej Sapkowski. However, Sapkowski himself apparently does not see the same level of financial success as developer CD Projekt Red, as he does not make any money from the popularity of the The Witcher games themselves. As it turns out, the author accepted a one-off payment for the rights, instead of a deal that offered a percentage of the profits....

Hitman 3, the new stealth title from IO Interactive, will launch on January 20, 2021. As the latest game in the long-running stealth series, Hitman 3 will put players back in the well-polished shoes of professional assassin Agent 47. While there have only been three Hitman games in the latest series, the franchise as a whole spans over dozen, backed up by novels, comics, and even a couple of movies. Although there have been some contradictions, the existing canon has filled in almost all the gaps in Agent 47’s mysterious past....

In a new blog post about one of Hitman 3’s locations posted today, IO Interactive confirmed that the PC release of its sandbox stealth game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for 12 months. This is in stark contrast to previous installments of the game, which launched on Steam alongside its console variants. While this normally wouldn’t be that big of a deal, the newer Hitman titles have the unique ability to carry over previous levels and missions into new sequels....

As an enormous Pokemon fan, I’m beyond excited to finally get my hands on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl later this year. I’ve always loved Gen 4, mostly because Sinnoh is the most stunning region in the entire series, although it would be remiss to pretend it had no issues whatsoever. Dialga and Palkia are rubbish Legendaries, Team Galactic need to find a proper hairdresser, and the fact there are only two Fire-type evolutionary lines available in the entire game remains just as inexcusable now as it ever was - if not more so....

Guerilla Games shows off the amazing visuals of their new title Horizon: Zero Dawn as well as discussing the backstory of its tough, independent female protagonist Guerrilla Games has released a new video which goes a little deeper into the origins of Aloy, the protagonist of their new game Horizon: Zero Dawn. Although the game isn’t slated to release until spring 2017, already Aloy is a cosplay icon, with the studio even bringing out a guide to help fans copy her distinctive style....

It may have taken a few decades, but we finally have a follow-up to Sega’s premiere beat-em-up series Streets of Rage. The newest installment, Streets of Rage 4, doesn’t deviate too much from what you’d expect of a classic arcade brawler.
