Fortnite has managed to keep players entertained with a constant stream of updates, challenges, and crossover events. The battle royale game has now introduced Fortnite season 3 and alongside it are new challenges and terrain. To match the increasing amount of water now in the game, Fortnite has launched a crossover with the DCEU’s Aquaman that includes some unlockable skins. Part of the appeal of Fortnite is its frequent crossover events and it seems that this most recent set of hero skins has been in the works for some time....

NetherRealm Studios reschedules this week’s original character reveal date for its forthcoming fighting game, Injustice 2, pushing the unveiling back until next week. Several days ago, the video game developer NetherRealm Studios promised it would have a new Injustice 2 character reveal ready for February 7, 2017, which was just prior to today. However, since the company failed to provide any assets to promote the inclusion of a fresh fighter to the game’s roster yesterday, NetherRealm Studios has decided to reschedule the character’s reveal until next week, with the Injustice 2 hero or villain set to be unveiled on February 13, 2017....

When Grand Theft Auto 5 made its way to the PC market after months of delays, the modding community was more than ready to start using the amazing world of Los Santos as a giant sandbox for creativity. Rockstar played along and offered a toolbox of modding support for the game’s single player mode, but has been much more strict about Grand Theft Auto Online. As of its latest update, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery lets players progress farther in Year 3 and explore more of the game world. Along with this added freedom is the chance to collect more free energy, with Year 3 adding one new free energy source to the game. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery players will be able to get free energy a few times a day from the previous energy sources they tapped on before, but now they will also be able to get free energy from a source in Hogsmeade as well....

With Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard’s making a big push into the increasingly lucrative multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) scene. That makes sense: thanks mostly to eSports’ growing popularity among both players and viewers, MOBA games are the fastest-growing PC gaming market, with titles like Riot’s League of Legends and Valve’s Dota 2 on track to generate over $500 million this year alone. In order for Heroes of the Storm to succeed, Blizzard’s going to need to do two things....

Nintendo has had dozens of smash hit games in it’s long and storied history, but some always stand out more than others. These games have the exceptional distinction of being the highest rated game for each respective Nintendo console, going from the NES to the recent Nintendo Switch. Because of their ages, the scores for the NES and SNES games will be taken from ports for the Game Boys Advance. Additionally, the Game Boy and Virtual Boy are left out of the equation....

And ironically, the most exciting thing about the episode is not in the pyrotechnics of a somewhat arbitrary cliffhanger; it’s in the tension of a president (or president-elect) sitting down with rightwing talk radio/fake news, legitimizing that type of crazy and challenging it in a conversation that would suggest the fate of the republic rests in the hands of the seedy underside of the internet. It is as dubious a scenario as the idea that a secret cabal in Langley would actually try to remove an American head of state by force, yet it is a far more tantalizing one....

BioWare is relying on the success of Dragon Age 4 more than ever. After the disappointing reception of Mass Effect: Andromeda and the even more financially disappointing launch of Anthem, the studio needs to get back on track with its flagship fantasy franchise if it’s going to regain the confidence of both its fans and its investors. Mass Effect: Andromeda was the last ME franchise RPG released by BioWare, with it going on ice thereafter (but hopefully being revived now), and there are many things BioWare did in that game that the studio will need to avoid in the next Dragon Age to make the game a success....

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably the the biggest video game release of 2020, transporting players to a gritty sci-fi world full of bio-augmented criminals and lowlives. True to its name, the game explores some pretty deep concepts about cyberspace and what life might be like in a futuristic transhuman society where technological advancements have turned us less human and more machine. So it’s no surprise that the game’s score often sounds like something recovered from the year 2077 and brought back to our time....

The quest to defeat the Arch Illager will ulitmately take players to the Desert Temple, one of Minecraft Dungeons’ most difficult levels. This temple is littered with booby traps, difficult enemies, and may even end up being the player’s first encounter with Enderman, but all of this pales in comparison to its boss, the Nameless One. The Nameless One pulls out all the stops, forcing players to think outside the box and approach combat in a new way....
