It’s hard to make it big in the gaming industry, but many of the corporate giants around today kicked off their gaming initiative from very humble beginnings. Insomniac Games is one such developer that kicked off its venture two decades ago, in fact, it was on March 25, 1994 that the studio first opened its doors. Taking this anniversary into consideration — not to mention that sticking around for 20 years in an industry as cut-throat as gaming is no easy feat — Insomniac Games released a music video to celebrate....

Developer IO Interactive is posting several new job listings in an effort to recruit more people to its upcoming James Bond game, Project 007. IO Interactive is perhaps best known for its work on the Hitman video game series. While the anticipated Hitman 3 soon to launch, it appears that the Danish developer isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Detailed on IOI’s official website, the company is looking to fill spots across a wide range of roles for Project 007....

While gamers anxiously await a release date for the PS4, one of Sony’s last big PS3 exclusives may have spilled the beans. Tucked away in a scene from Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us is a ‘Mandatory Evacuation Notice,’ which clearly mentions the date October 17th, 2013. Now, while this date could mean anything in the context of Last of Us’ post-apocalyptic setting, we’d like to believe there is something deeper....

I played through Persona 5 Strikers on PS4, but it’s also available on both PC and Nintendo Switch. This, reader, is completely stupid. For those unacquainted with Strikers, it serves as a sequel to Persona 5, but not Persona 5 Royal. As someone who has played through all of these games - two of them multiple times - I can confidently say that Persona 5 Royal is the best one. Grand Theft Auto 5 has been the best-selling game in the United States since the NPD group began tracking sales. Take-Two, the parent company of series’ developer Rockstar Games, recently revealed that the game has shipped 80 million copies worldwide. A tweet by The NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella posted earlier today revealed that Grand Theft Auto 5 has been the number one best-selling game in the United States since the firm began tracking sales in 1995....

It may have been more than seven years since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, but the game is still going strong. It’s the best selling video game of all time and, thanks to a string of steady updates, still has a relatively large player base. Although most people have had their fill of the game’s single player mode, GTA Online is still teeming with life. Roguelike fanatics can currently enjoy the award-winning Greek mythology hack-and-slash Hades on Nintendo Switch and PC, but not Xbox or PlayStation. That looks to be changing, as the game has garnered a rating in South Korea. On the official game grade classification website in Korea, Hades is listed as being for everyone aged 15 or older due to its “realistic or fantasy representation of violence, with bright red blood and physical damage....

Zynga Inc — the mobile developer known for popular games such as Words with Friends and FarmVille — is teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to launch Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells. Published by Portkey Games, the new title is billed as an “innovative match-3 puzzle” game, so we can expect a Bejeweled-like experience mixed with the wonderful Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The mobile game will follow storylines inspired by the novels and reunite players with iconic characters....

When the highly anticipated Team Ico opus The Last Guardian failed to make an appearance at this year’s E3 or Tokyo Game Show, gamers began to fear the worst: the game had been cancelled. Then came news that Fumito Ueda, the man thought to be the unifying vision behind The Last Guardian, had parted ways with Sony, and things looked even bleaker. Gamers have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of the the new Source Engine, which will represent the next generation of graphics from a company which has routinely pushed the envelope as to what video games can do. The first engine released to amazement and fanfare from both gamers and critics, and the second generation of it has high expectations. If there’s one superhero who’s had a real roller coaster of content over the past few years, well, there isn’t. There are definitely several. But one of them is Aquaman, whose surprisingly endearing portrayal in 2017’s Justice League and 2018’s Aquaman film really seems to have given the character new life. Nowhere is this more apparent than in a new promotional image for the character’s upcoming animated series. HBO Max and Cartoon Network just released the first glimpse at Aquaman: King of Atlantis, and it looks like it will really crank up the zaniness....

2017 was an interesting year in gaming. Immersing players in a world overtaken by machines in a post-apocalyptic setting, the backstory of how Earth came to be this way was a major factor in the game’s overwhelming success....

After being a PS4 exclusive title for three years, Horizon: Zero Dawn has finally landed on PC. Similar to its PS4 counterpart, Horizon received great reviews on PC from critics across the gaming industry. The PC port of Horizon: Zero Dawn has plenty of new features and upgrades compared to its PS4 predecessor, now that it’s on more powerful hardware. However, one PC feature that’s getting attention now is the fact that Guerilla Games programed native Xbox controller support into Horizon’s PC port....

In the case of Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance, odds are good it’ll be very faithful. One of the people working on Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance is RA Salvatore, the author behind the books the game is based on, so it stands to reason the contents of the Icewind Dale trilogy will probably shine through....
