Last month, it came to light that Hogwarts Legacy lead designer Troy Leavitt had a YouTube channel where he published controversial videos, including some that expressed pro-Gamergate sentiments and another called “In Defense of John Lasseter,” which was about a former Disney executive who left the company after facing accusations of sexual misconduct. This resulted in some backlash online and not long after, Leavitt quit Avalanche Software and left the project....

Guerrilla Games is launching Horizon: Forbidden West later this year, and will be taking the young heroine Aloy to new locations. The developer has not revealed too many details, but it did recently share the places players will be able to see in the upcoming sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn. While the first game was located in post-apocalyptic areas surrounding Colorado, Horizon: Forbidden West will have Aloy trekking through the states of Nevada, Utah, and California, matching up with past information about the game taking place between Utah and the Pacific Ocean....

The Bat-Family are back baby! Well, they’ve never really been gone but despite their occasional appearances in the smash-hit Batman: Arkham games series we’ve never gotten a dedicated game focused on Batman’s numerous wards until now. Gotham Knights showcases Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl, Jason Todd’s Red Hood, Tim Drake’s Robin, and of course Dick Grayson’s Nightwing teaming up to protect a Gotham that’s left defenseless after the apparent death of Batman. The Dark Universe, Universal’s would-be monster movie franchise, may have only fallen apart a scant four years ago with 2017’s The Mummy, but the mindset behind its conception now (amidst the post-pandemic, theater-averse dominance of streaming,) feels like a notion from a completely different age.
