Compared to the rest of the franchise, Grand Theft Auto V took the unconventional route of the player switching back and forth between three different characters. Each individual had their own story that blended with the two others, which made for a unique approach to storytelling in the typically story-heavy games. Of course, considering how expansive the story can get, there are bound to be some plot holes that leave some players scratching their heads, wondering why they haven’t got the answers....

Guerilla Games wants PC players of Horizon Zero Dawn to know that they’re listening to complaints of poor performance and are looking for solutions. Horizon Zero Dawn came out on PC last week, and while some are playing the game without issue, others are noting some pretty bad technical bugs. Crashes, poor framerate, audio and visual stuttering, and anisotropic filtering that just doesn’t work at all are all common complaints from both players and reviewers....

Halo 4 is going to release as Microsoft’s most expensive game to date when all is said and done, and it’s easy to see why. The Solace multiplayer location is the latest to be examined under a microscope by 343 Industries, promising plenty of atmosphere, and possibly the best Halo 4 map we’ve seen so far for the all new Flood Mode....

Master Chief just can’t seem to catch a break. Jason Schreier (via Bloomberg) confirmed today that 343 Industries veteran Chris Lee has left the company. Lee was the current director of Halo Infinite, which has had no shortage of development woes over the past few years. “I have stepped back from Infinite and I am looking at future opportunities,” Lee said. “I believe in the team and am confident they will deliver a great game and now is a good time for me to step away....

If there’s any shooter franchise that’s had it rough the most in the last few years, it’d have to be Microsoft’s flagship franchise. The Halo series’ jump to the current generation was met with solid reviews at first, but over time the game’s flaws started to show, especially in the multiplayer department. Halo 5 made significant improvements over Halo 4’s offering, but to be fair, Halo 5’s multiplayer was very unlike its predecessors in pivotal ways....

Christmas came early this year and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is now available on Android and iOS devices. That means there’s a brand new mobile AR game to start exploring and players are already leveling up and answering questions we’ve all been wondering since the game was announced. Beta testing for the Call of Duty: Mobile game is chugging along on Android in select regions before it is eventually released this year as a free to play title on iOS and Android. Straight from the testing servers is a glimpse at the map for the game’s Battle Royale mode. Activision is doing what it can to bring Call of Duty to mobile devices in a way that will attract newcomers and longtime fans of the series alike....

The PlayStation 5 tag on Twitter is currently trending, and people have a lot to say. Sony recently confirmed the PS5 game reveal event date to be Thursday, June 11. That’s tomorrow, and people are excited. The PS5 reveal event will be broadcast at 1 PM PT. The pre-taped event is reportedly going to be over an hour long and dedicate at least an hour of that to revealing PS5 games....

This past weekend saw Japanese pop singer Hikaru Utada come out as non-binary, wishing fans and viewers across the internet a happy Pride as they dropped a progressive bombshell that has already begun rippling across the wider industry. This personal revelation was beautifully understated, with Utada choosing the final few days of Pride Month to share themselves with the world, smiling with confidence and not afraid of what others might think....

Video games have become increasingly cinematic experiences over the last decade or so, many moving from dumb fun to putting a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Of course, weird games still exist, just look at the recently announced Bugsnax, so it makes sense that outlandish ideas gain traction from time to time — a “floppy” guns concept is just one of the recent ones to become popular. Jacob Janerka, who also pitched an idea for a Seinfeld game, shared a new concept on Twitter, in which player’s weapons would flop around with each movement....

Most will know the Honest Trailers brand for their scathing, yet hilarious, take downs of popular blockbusters. Over the last few years the channel has taken on everything from Spider-Man to Transformers, and they’ve yet to miss a beat. It may be called Honest Trailers, and there may be a comedic bent to the videos, but the channel does provide insightful criticism for some of the hottest movies. However, few would know that the Honest Trailers filmmakers have also started covering games....

Speed is of the essence in Hood: Outlaws & Legends, but it’s never more important than when a lockdown starts. If you or your teammates are spotted by guards in the fortress, the surrounding location will enter lockdown, causing the Portcullis gates to slam shut and reinforcements to converge on the area. The Sliding Through The Glen achievement requires you to slide under a Portcullis gate just before it closes....

The Horizon Forbidden West-focused State of Play has quickly become the most-watched single game State of Play in just one day. Looking at the YouTube views for the stream shows that the State of Play is at a sizeable 4.3 million views, which it has achieved in three days. According to PushSquare, the footage had already beaten every other game-focused State of Play in less than a day, where it hit 2....

Yet, while the 1987 film—notably from future Batman film franchise director Joel Schumacher—was rife with riffs directed at the hitherto untapped masses of comic book fandom, this shout-out to a Golden Age issue would, indeed, make it “a very serious book, man,” as Corey Feldman’s Edgar Frog famously replied....

Selene, the protagonist of Housemarque’s upcoming roguelike Returnal, is not in the typical video game protagonist mould. It’s glib to say that she’s different just because she’s a woman; there are plenty of female leads in gaming these days, even if the scales are still tipped towards males. But Selene is also older than usual, a Greek-American whose story is inspired by Greek myths, and has “a scientist’s brain” rather than that of a soldier or an action hero....
