Battlefield 6–if that is indeed what EA and DICE plan to call the upcoming Battlefield game–is perhaps the worst-kept secret in gaming right now. Leaked images have been around for a month showing us that Battlefield 6’s setting will return to modern times with perhaps just a little futurism for flavoring. And leaked audio and trailer footage from last month has apparently provided us with 80% of what EA plans to show us next month, according to a new rumor....

Activision Blizzard seems to be going through a slightly rough patch at the moment. Blizzard executive Frank Pearce recently announced he was leaving the company, making him the second co-founder to leave over the past year, and the company’s share price has been declining over the last few months, leading to some speculation it could be bought out. Now, one investor has suggested that the Walt Disney Company should do just that....

Anyone who has experienced 10, soon to be 11, seasons of The Walking Dead can tell you that comic writer Robert Kirkman enjoys a lengthy story. Kirkman’s zombie comic series from which the AMC adaptation takes its inspiration ran from 2003 through 2019 and featured a staggering 193 issues. What’s even more impressive, however, is that The Walking Dead wasn’t the only expansive serialized story Kirkman was telling at the same time....

Mass Effect 3 seems to be getting reevaluated with the launch of the Legendary Edition, and I for one love to see it. While I still prefer Mass Effect 2 and don’t expect that to change as I make my way through Shepard’s final chapter, it’s great to see that Mass Effect 3 is no longer being judged by its final half hour, and that without the hype of Mass Effect 2 building up expectations, the trilogy’s finale is being appreciated for what it is....

2020 was a bad year for a lot of things, but it was a great year for new video game heroes. Among all of the sequels, prequels, and remakes, there were a handful of brand new characters that entered the pantheon of all-time great video game characters. The Last of Us Part 2 gave us Abby, Lev, Dina, and a handful of others, while Yakuza: Like a Dragon offered up the endlessly endearing Ichiban Kasuga....

Gunpowder Milkshake features an impressive cast of action women, but it’s Karen Gillan who holds the Netflix neon noir together. The actress, who first broke onto the international scene in 2010 with her introduction as Amy Pond on Doctor Who, has parlayed that fan favorite performance into an impressive Hollywood career that includes the recurring roles of Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Martha in the latest iteration of the Jumanji franchise....

At long last, the PC port of Halo: Reach is closer to being the definitive edition. Coinciding with the launch of Halo 3 on PC today, the now eight-month-old port of Reach has received a patch to improve its audio quality. No longer will you have to deal with sound effects that sound like they are blaring out of blown-out speakers. When the game made the jump to Xbox One and PC in late December of 2019, developer 343 Industries had encountered an issue with converting the audio codec used in the original Xbox 360 version if Reach....

Halo 3’s PC launch will be including a super cool feature in the form of a new jetpack skull, allowing players to have a grand old time flying their way through the new PC port. You’ll recall jetpacks featuring before in the series with Halo: Reach. It turns out they were also going to be a thing in Halo: Combat Evolved before Bungie opted to veto that (but still keep it as a developer tool), and now they’re back....

There are many in the gaming community who have been looking forward to the release of Halo Infinite for years now. Despite having been delayed, numerous fans are still excited to get their hands on Halo Infinite. Although, a particular retail outlet has now given Halo fans a pretty good reason to purchase its special edition of the game. The delayed release of Halo Infinite left many fans upset. After all, this game has been teased for the better part of several years and only received actual gameplay footage earlier this year....

With the likes of Stardew Valley and My Time At Portia honing in on the farm-based life simulator genre that has grown so popular over the years, it’s almost difficult to remember that these games were far from the first to build on the unique and addicting idea.
