With the slogan “Make something Unreal”, Epic Games’ flagship product, Unreal Engine, has certainly proven its brand mantra. Whether it be interactive experiences such as Fortnite and Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time or visual effects in television, including sci-fi hits like Westworld and The Mandalorian, Unreal Engine is making dreams a reality no matter the medium. Pushing the bounds of interactivity, graphical fidelity, visual effects, and even storytelling, Unreal Engine is the warp-drive of future content creation....

One of Hyper Scape’s strengths is how easy it is to learn. If you’re familiar with other Battle Royals, there are only 9 guns and 9 hacks to familiarize yourself with, as well as a fairly simple respawn system a map with a few unique locations. You’ll be able to pick up and play Hyper Scape competently after only 1 or 2 games, but actually winning fights is another story....

There are many things to be annoyed about when it comes to Game of Thrones. Whether it be characters killed off in the stupidest way possible, the plot armour of the Stark sisters, or just the way it generally squandered all of its fantastic momentum in service of rushed and hackneyed conclusion, there’s a lot that pissed Game of Thrones fans off. It might seem odd then that one of the biggest annoyances I still have with the show is how it treated Euron Greyjoy....

One aspect of Morrowind and Oblivion that many players took issue with was that, while it was a nice change to have a voice behind the many NPCs that could be interacted with, the majority of them were voiced by the same person and resulted in many of them sounding identical to one another. Insomniac previously announced that Going Commando’s Carbonox armor was returning to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart in stunning next-gen fidelity. Now, following Rivet’s name reveal, five more sets have been unveiled for her and Ratchet. To clarify, in the latest trailer, it’s shown that Rivet - the elusive second Lombax whose name had escaped us thus far - is a playable character, seemingly as much as Ratchet is. That’s why they share as much space on the posters and promotional material....

With the launch of its i9 119000K CPU coming early this year, Intel is arguably the go-to company when choosing a processor. Joy-Con drift has plagued the Switch since its launch in 2017, spurring memes, cleaning advice, and a class-action lawsuit. It wasn’t a problem exclusive to the launch consoles and controllers, either - even brand-new ones often quickly fall victim to the frustrating drifting issues. Grand Theft Auto Online adds a much wanted feature with its new Finance and Felony expansion, but as with most new features in Grand Theft Auto Online, it doesn’t come cheap. Grand Theft Auto Online, the open world multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto 5, recently introduced the Finance and Felony expansion pack. This new expansion pack offers players access to many new features, including a customizable gun locker that allows players to personalize their weapon loadouts....

Guy Ritchie, who made his name making British crime comedies like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, has been tapped to write and direct the World War II pic Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare for Paramount. Pirates of the Caribbean’s Jerry Bruckheimer is on board to produce alongside Chad Oman through his banner Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Based on the wordily titled nonfiction book Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops by Damien Lewis (not Damian Lewis, the actor from Homeland), Ritchie’s movie will tell the story of England’s first black ops team, which operated during the Second World War....

The Battle Royale genre is perhaps the most competitive in the games industry right now, with Fortnite and PUBG comfortably dominating the market. However, H1Z1 - arguably the first popular Battle Royale shooter - has proven that there is still room for other titles in the genre after a promising first day of its PS4 open beta. H1Z1 has been out on PC for some time, where it enjoyed some success for its last-man-standing approach to gunplay and vehicle combat....

Hades, the roguelike action role-playing game by Supergiant Games has exited early access. And including the early access purchases, Hades has already sold over 1,000,000 copies. After about two years in early access, Hades has been released and is receiving fantastic reviews. Indie developer Supergiant Games posted a tweet sharing info about the game’s great milestone in sales, to go along with its critical acclaim. Hades exited early access and launched on the Switch and PC on September 17, 2020....

Developer 343 Industries has announced the seven multiplayer modes Halo 5: Guardians players can expect when the game launches later this month. There are some notable omissions, but as of right now it sounds like Halo fans will be plenty satisfied with the multiplayer variety. And eventually there will be room to expand. When Halo 5: Guardians launches on October 27th, players will have access to seven total modes including Warzone, Warzone Assault, Slayer, Breakout, Free-for-All, SWAT, and Team Arena....

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery’s weekly update is available now, but it doesn’t add Year 5 Chapter 6 to the game. In lieu of new main story content, the Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery update adds a limited-time Halloween side quest called The Halloween Feast (spelled Hallowe’en in-game) that will be available for a little over three days. The Halloween Feast side quest is broken up into four parts, and deals with a “deadly threat” that interrupts the annual Hogwarts’ annual Halloween celebration....

Originally published in Japan in 2019 under the title “The Gifted Gene and My Lovable Memes,” Hideo Kojima’s book of essays is getting an English translation. Publisher Viz Media will release the translated version in English-speaking countries on October 12, 2021, with the new title, “The Creative Gene: How books, movies, and music inspired the creator of Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid.” As the name implies, The Creative Gene will explore various sources of inspiration that Kojima used to make his games, including books, movies, and music....

Zack Snyder‘s career comes full circle with the upcoming Netflix zombie extravaganza Army of the Dead, a film almost two decades in the making. The filmmaker best known for Justice League and Watchmen first cut his teeth on a feature-length project with Dawn of the Dead, Universal Picture’s high-octane remake of the George A. Romero horror classic. A much more action-packed and grim take on Romero’s mall-set zombie shenanigans, the 2004 re-imagining remains Snyder’s best flick....

A simply incredible achievement for a small indie studio founded by Tomas Sakalauskas, CEO of No Brakes Games. We sat down with Tomas recently to discuss Human Fall Flat’s achievements and more, where Tomas revealed to us that No Brakes Games recently set up a second studio in his hometown in Lithuania, and in conjunction with their other studio in sunny Tenerife, they’re working hard at both supporting the future of Human Fall Flat, and creating more games in a similar vein to Human Fall Flat....
