Marvel’s Phase 4 will be introducing many new characters from the Marvel comics into the MCU. Guilty Gear has one of the more ridiculous storylines in fighting games. A beautiful-looking series with a fantastic cast of heroes and villains, the sci-fi anime aesthetic lends itself to some wacky concepts. The broad strokes of the series aren’t all that bizarre, as it tells a pretty basic story overall. In a world where magic was discovered, three scientists accidentally unleashed a new type of species that led to a lengthy war between these creatures (Gears) and humanity....

Guilty Gear Strive’s story mode has been shown off in new trailers, but after our interview with the Guilty Gear team at Arc System Works, we can confirm that the story mode lasts roughly four to five hours in length, and contains no battles. This is fairly traditional for Guilty Gear games, and Guilty Gear Xrd infamously featured a similar story mode, which was hours of dialogue and intricately posed 3D models, but no actual “gameplay” as far traditional fighting games are concerned....

We’ll have to wait a little longer to play The Continent’s favorite game, as CD Projekt Red announce that Gwent: The Witcher Card Game won’t enter beta until October. At E3 2016, the highly anticipated announcement from CD Projekt Red was revealed to be the existence of a standalone game, based around the popular card game Gwent from The Witcher 3. Players that were excited at the possibilities that the title could offer were given the chance to sign up for the game’s closed beta that would take place in September - a date that is now being postponed by a month....

Custom difficulty options seem more and more common as the years go on and accessibility options continue to expand. They allow for greater control over the challenge presented by a game over the broad and flat adjustments provided by difficulty levels. Halo: The Master Chief Collection, in preparation for its launch on Xbox Game Pass, has finally received a number of major updates, addressing the many issues it’s been plagued with since the game’sits launch in 2014. It looks like development on Halo: Infinite has been a little rocky, but now a veteran Halo developer has come on board to help steer the project to success. Joseph Staten, who worked on the original trilogy, will be joining forces with 343 Industries as product lead for the game’s campaign. Staten began his career at Microsoft in 1998 working with Halo’s original developer, Bungie. Among his many roles, Staten worked as director of cinematics for the first three games in the series....

Blizzard made a brief but important announcement for Hearthstone yesterday with the release of a hotfix that fixed a few bugs. Dead Island 2 is kind of a mystery. Nobody expected it to take this long in development, probably least of all Deep Silver.
