Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery recently received an update that allows Hogwarts students to continue their education in Year 3, whereas previously they would hit a roadblock and be unable to progress the story. This update not only gives players a chance to continue the story - it also allows them to explore new parts of the game world, including the brand new area Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade appears at the bottom of the list of areas players can explore in the game, though it has been unavailable until the latest update....

Another Thursday has arrived, but unfortunately, Year 5 Chapter 3 still has yet to be added to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. While fans are still waiting for the new story content, though, Jam City has added a special Halloween-themed in-game event that will last for four days and gives them the opportunity to unlock some exclusive content. The Halloween event (spelled Hallowe’en in-game) in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is called Fresh Off the Vine, and it sees players helping Dumbledore with preparing Hogwarts for the holiday....

Democrative State Representative for Hawaii Chris Lee has been one of the key figures in the ongoing debate about video game loot boxes and whether they constitute gambling. Late last year, Lee launched an investigation into loot boxes and vowed to work on legislation in order to regulate the business model. Now, Lee’s efforts have taken a significant step forward. After a longer than expected wait, Horizon: Zero Dawn, the newest IP Guerrilla Games is now less than a week away from release. To celebrate and to continued building hype, Sony has released the launch trailer for the open world game showing off more exciting gameplay while highlighting the many positive reviews it has recently garnered. In addition to all of the glowing critical reviews, Horizon: Zero Dawn players can see more of the varied landscapes of the open world from lush jungles, to broken cities now reclaimed by nature....

According to a post on the Dutch gaming site PSX-Sense, Guerrilla Games has now officially made the day one patch notes available for Horizon: Zero Dawn ahead of its launch next week. Once fans download and apply the update – which is a combination of version 1.01 and 1.02, apparently – some improvements to certain performance issues ought to be made, and it will also include Performance Mode to give the game smoother frame rates in 1080p and 4K....

Recently, Infinity Ward revealed a new type of contract for Call of Duty: Warzone players to find on the battle royale map. The new “Most Wanted” contracts were pitched as a sort of backwards version of the bounty contracts that already existed in the game, with players making themselves a target for every enemy. On paper, the Call of Duty: Warzone Most Wanted contracts sounded like they could add a great deal of fun intensity to the game, but in practice, they failed to live up to expectations....
