Often, nothing but peace and tranquility are associated with the whimsical towns of Animal Crossing. With vibrant green landscapes and cartoonish visuals, nobody would expect much to go wrong, aside from a rent-seeking (or mortgage-seeking) raccoon. However, it would be interesting to have a less tranquil in-game mechanic, which could be that of a “pandemic” mechanic. It’s already possible for villagers to be sick throughout the Animal Crossing series. In Wild World, City Folk, and New Leaf, this is expressed through somewhat moody villagers that often quarantine themselves from their fellow villagers....

After a lengthy silence, Blizzard finally gave Overwatch fans another glimpse at Overwatch 2 in February. While Overwatch 2 skipped the keynote address at BlizzCon 2021, the game did get its own video presentation afterwards, detailing Hero Missions, the New York and Rome maps, and some potential changes that are on the way for Tank heroes like Reinhardt. The Unfinished Swan has splattered itself on to PC and iOS platforms in a surprise release yesterday. It is available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $14.99, and on the App Store for $4.99. This follows in the footsteps of another former PlayStation exclusive Journey, which gained developmental help from Sony Santa Monica. Annapurna Interactive picked up the publishing rights for both and made The Unfinished Swan available to PC and iOS owners today (thanks Gematsu)....

David Jaffe, a video game designer best known for his work on Twisted Metal and God of War, showed off a game concept that can be described as “Left 4 Dead with demons” instead of zombies.
