It will be celebrated as great news by many Mass Effect fans, but I’m more torn on the issue. I have no great love for the Mako, but its jankiness feels like a core part of the original Mass Effect, and smoothing out those rough patches could mean ironing out its identity too....

The newest entry in Natsume’s Harvest Moon series isn’t going to be a console-exclusive release. Natsume debuted the first official gameplay trailer for Harvest Moon: One World earlier today, revealing the biggest game in series history. Harvest Moon: One World is scheduled to release for Switch and PS4 on March 2, and this gameplay trailer does a great job highlighting all the farming shenanigans you can get into next year. Of course, the usual assortment of Harvest Moon features are returning – romance-able characters, fixing up your farm, raising animals – but you’ll also be able to do a lot more adventuring this time around....
The Hearthstone team has revealed the game’s upcoming Madness at the Darkmoon Faire expansion, and everything we’ve heard so far suggests it could be the game’s most meaningful expansion yet. The upcoming expansion will also feature the usual number of new cards (135). Among the new cards are the return of the “Old Gods” Legendaries (C’thun, N’Zoth, Yogg-Saron, and Y’Shaarj) who each produce some potentially game-changing effects when played. There’s also a new keyword called “Corrupt” which basically allows you to upgrade a corrupted card by playing a card that costs more than it does....

Sony’s consoles used to have a great amount of crossover value as entertainment products. The social deduction game Among Us boasts a huge number of September downloads on mobile devices. That number has increased exponentially from August, which was also a huge month for Among Us. According to mobile market tracker Sensor Tower, Among Us has received over 41 million downloads in September 2020, up from about 18 million downloads in August. The game was only downloaded about 1 million times each month in early 2020 before the game became a viral hit....
Publisher EA releases an extensive trial of puzzle platformer Unravel, granting PC, Xbox One, and PS4 users access to the indie title’s first level, Thistle and Weeds. Even though 2016 is a year full to the brim with highly anticipated epic-scale titles, there have been plenty of low-key games that have been expected to have a major impact.
