One of the biggest (but least surprising) news stories out of last week was that after a long (and apparently deeply troubled) development, Prey 2 had officially been cancelled. Originally announced back in 2011, the first person shooter was set to follow bounty hunter Killian Samuels in a sequel to Prey, the 2006 Xbox exclusive. Unfortunately the game didn’t exactly encounter smooth sailing since being shown publicly, but had even praise give way to incredibly stormy seas....

Developed by Hollow Ponds and published by Annapurna Interactive, I Am Dead is a charming puzzle game about the afterlife and the memories people hang onto when we’re gone. The game was first announced back in March, though no information was given regarding its release date. Today, Annapurna Interactive confirmed that the game would be released for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam this September 2020. Annapurna Interactive also uploaded a four-and-a-half-minute video that contains a longer sneak peek of the game, featuring commentary from the game’s creators Ricky Hogg and Richard Haggett (Hohokum, Wilmot’s Warehouse)....

New Pokemon Snap is an absolute joy, mostly because it shows the sweet side of every Pokemon - even the boring birds and fish. As you roll along the peaceful paths–the sole human in the whole space–you get a window into the way Pokemon life should be. With World of Warcraft Classic’s release date drawing ever closer, Blizzard opened up the beta to more people, in order to perform a stress test. While I wasn’t online for the 2 hour scheduled test, thanks to its middle of the night timeslot, I was able to get into the beta later that day. As revealed during Microsoft’s Inside Xbox presentation earlier today, a number of big name original Xbox games are coming to the Xbox One. Griefhelm is a title by a man named Johnny Dale Lomack - which is a pretty solid name - that takes a lot of inspiration from the ridiculous yet charming Nidhogg. The key difference is that this game demands that its 2D hack ’n slash combat be taken seriously. There’s no silliness here. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy series adds some much needed levity to a franchise of films that takes itself pretty seriously most of the time. Netflix has officially unveiled the cast of director Guillermo del Toro’s rendition of classic tale Pinocchio; an impressive lineup that’s notably highlighted by A-listers such as Cate Blanchett, Ewan McGregor and Tilda Swinton. The film will utilize stop-motion as the means to update the often-adapted tale famously conveyed by author Carlo Collodi’s 1883 serial story collection, The Adventures of Pinocchio, and, of course, Disney’s iconic, culturally-cemented 1940 animated Pinocchio film. Additionally, the plot will carry some newfound historical gravitas by moving the story’s traditional time setting to a World War II-era backdrop, focusing on the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, showcasing what the logline calls “a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations....

One of the shock surprises of E3 2018 was when Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed Halo: Infinite. The game was introduced with a beautiful trailer full of epic shots of the landscape and its wildlife as well as a look at Master Chief (who will be returning in the game). Although details were scant, the forthcoming title already looks quite ambitious. Halo: Infinite is an ambitious game, so much so that series developer 343 Industries is drafting in another studio in order to help out with development....

There’s a lot of mixed emotions about Halo Infinite ever since 343 revealed the first campaign footage of the game at the Xbox Games Showcase event. While many fans praised the gameplay as looking to be quite fun, others were quick to criticize its graphics as being outdated. Since much about Halo Infinite has yet to be revealed, some fans may be a little too quick to judge, but it has been confirmed that the new game will be bringing back a popular feature....

Microsoft just premiered the first Xbox Series X gameplay from Halo Infinite’s new campaign, which lasted roughly eight minutes. The gameplay footage showed off Halo Infinite’s beautiful new graphics running on the Xbox Series X, showing Master Chief taking on a slew of different enemies, using a wide range of different weapons. One of the more exciting parts of the demo was seeing Master Chief take advantage of some of his abilities, both new and old....
